25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Schnell conducted a case management inspection in response to the addition of an infant center at this location, which is resulting in a capacity decrease to the licensed preschool. LPA Schnell met with applicant Helena Geng and Director Danni Feng. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety to ensure the facility was in compliance with Title 22 Regulations for Child Care Centers.
The applicant has converted the Lily Room into the Infant Center. The total square footage of the Lily Room is 721.72 Square feet. This is being taken from a capacity worksheet dated 4/15/20, previously completed by LPA Schnell.
The deduction of this square footage results in a NEW total square footage for the preschool program of 1872.01 square feet. Divided by 35 square feet per child equals 53 children. If the children enrolled in the infant center begin toilet training, they will share the bathroom with the preschool children. The preschool program will operate 8 am -5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Applicant understands that the two age groups cannot be commingled in the bathroom at the same time. There is an approved open space waiver for outdoor space and this will be updated to reflect the new capacity. The applicant has submitted an Application requesting to decrease the capacity from 74 children to 50 children, ages two years old to entry into first grade. The applicant also submitted LIC 308, LIC 401, LIC 500 and LIC 999 documents which were reviewed. LPA Schnell also sent an updated Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) to the San Francisco Fire Department. Since this location will now become a combination center with the addition of an infant center (application pending currently).
Based on the new square footage, the request to decrease the capacity to 50 children will be granted once an updated fire safety inspection is received. Applicant states the fire inspection is scheduled for 10/1/21. |
