25 | On March 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Manager (LPM)Leung and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted an informal meeting with the Center Director, Laysan Andrews, Center Director of Compliance, Ana Field, and Regional Director, Lauren Martin. The purpose of this meeting was to review the center's recent unusual incident report, evaluate the medical emergency protocols & procedures and active supervision, and discuss the requirements for electronic record keeping and reporting requirements.
The following was reviewed, discussed, and reminded:
· The center self-reported an unusual incident that occurred at the center on February 10, 2025, where a child was found nonresponsive when the staff called their name. The child had vomited and urinated on themselves. According to the center representatives, there were no signs or sounds made by the child.
· Following proper safety and emergency response measures, use good judgment
· Notify the parent about the circumstances and the measures implemented. However, emergency services must be called, regardless of the recommendations from the parents or family.
· Supervision regulations: Children must be supervised at all times. No child, while present in the facility, shall be left unattended by a staff member.
· During nap time, perhaps lower the white noise, lullabies, or calming songs so that staff can hear children when they need assistance.
· Electronic Sign-in and Out: In addition to a unique code provided, the person signing must use a legal signature, or the app must capture the full name along with a timestamp of the individual signing the child in and out.
