| On July 11, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Leong and Van conducted an unannounced case management visit. LPAs met with the Assistant Director Aamena Alloo (S1) and explained the purpose of the visit.
The case management visit is regarding an unusual incident that occurred from June 23, 2025, to June 27, 2025. The facility submitted the incident report to the San Bruno Regional Office on July 03, 2025.
Thirty-seven children, S1, and seventeen staff members were present at today's visit.
The incident involved seven children who were sent home due to a stomach virus that caused vomiting. LPAs discussed the facility’s protocol with S1 regarding children vomiting and found that the staff followed protocol by contacting leadership immediately after the incident. Both the director and the instructional coach immediately contacted the children’s parents, and the children were picked up by their parents immediately.
LPAs interviewed S1 and found that staff followed the Infection control policy by immediately cleaning and sanitizing the affected areas.
S1 also informed LPAs that the facility’s additional protocol is to have children be vomit-free for 24 hours, and the children may return to the facility after the 24-hour period. S1 provided an electronic attendance sheet and found that the facility is in compliance with the 24-hour protocol. Five children waited at least 24 hours to return to the facility after the incident, and two did not return because they were in backup care. Backup care is as-needed child care.
This incident will be closed and may be reopened if new information becomes available.
A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Aamena Alloo.
