The most recent fire & earthquake drill was completed on November 7, 2025, and adequately documented.
The backyard was fully fenced, with age-appropriate playthings, and free of any hazards or debris that could pose a risk to the children in care. A soft cushion is placed underneath the play structure to prevent accidental falls.
No cribs or play pens were observed during the inspection. According to the licensee, all currently enrolled infants use cots during naps. The LPA reviewed and reminded the licensee that if and when an infant needs to sleep in a crib or playpen, the licensee must ensure that mattresses fit the dimensions; all bed sheets must be snugly fitted to prevent dislodging, which could pose a choking or suffocation hazard if they come off during an infant's nap.
During the inspection, the licensee provided the infants' sleep logs for review. Upon reviewing the records, it was found that the logs lacked the date for each check but included the initials, the child's name, and a 15-minute check interval. The LPA reminded the licensee also to note the date of each check going forward. The licensee acknowledged. The LPA also reminded the licensee to maintain a minimum of 30 days of logs for review during the annual inspection and to keep the records for 3 years.
LPA reviewed the children's records. The Licensee maintains complete records for all children in her care, including vaccination records and Parental Rights forms. LPA noted that each kid had a complete emergency information card that included the child's full name, phone number, and the location of a parent or authorized person who may be called in an emergency.
The Licensee and all assistants have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification on file, along with up-to-date Mandated Reporter Training certificates and immunization records.
All required licensing postings, including the facility license, parents' notification, and earthquake preparedness checklist, were posted correctly.
LPA discussed and informed the Licensee that she must be at home during childcare operation hours to ensure that the children in her care are always supervised. When the licensee must be absent from the house, the temporary absence should not exceed 20 percent of the hours the facility provides care per day.
