On 4/28/2023 at 8:35AM., Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Luis J. Gomez met with Licensees, Erica Ramos. Co-licensee/ husband, Marc Ramos arrived during inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained and was for an Unannounced, Annual Random inspection. Present in facility were both licensees caring for 8 children (5 preschool age, 3 infant age). Adults have criminal record clearances on file. Licensee’s home is a three bedroom, two bathroom, two level house. Days and Hours of operations are: Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM.- 5:00 PM. Day-Care Areas are: Dining Room, Bedroom #2 (Napping Only), Living Room (Playroom), Bathroom #1 and Covered Patio Area. Off-limit Areas are: Kitchen, Bedroom #1, Garage (Detached), Bedroom #3 (Upper Loft), and Bathroom #2. LPA inspected facility with licensees for health and safety hazards.

At 8:45AM., the following was observed: Facility was maintained clean, orderly and with age-appropriate playthings available for the children. Ground surfaces were clear of obstructions or potential hazards. Storage hooks are available for children’s belongings. Accessible furniture, toys and books inspected were in good repair. LPA observed several child- sized table and chairs for meals and seated activities. For napping services, LPA observed three infant cribs (with tight-fitting sheets) available in bedroom #2. Per licensee, napping sheets are washed weekly. Bathroom #1 was maintained clean, with adequate supplies for hand washing. Fixtures tested were in operating condition. Facility had sufficient ventilation, and lighting. Off-limit areas have been made inaccessible with child safety gates. Home had functioning telephone service (cell); smoke/ carbon monoxide combination detectors; and fire extinguisher, 2A:10BC.

LPA inspected the back patio area. Area is completely enclosed and free of debris or hazardous plants. Home does not have any pools, fishponds, jacuzzi, or bodies of water. (REFER TO 809C, FOR CONT)

At 9:40AM, LPA reviewed facility and children’s records. Children’s files were reviewed and included the: Identification of Emergency Information (LIC700); Notification of Parent's Rights (LIC995); Immunization Record; and Consent for Medical Treatment (LIC627)

Licensees are maintaining infant napping logs, documenting each 15 minutes review.


Children’s Roster (LIC9040) was current.

Licensee’s Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ First Aid certification are current, expiring: 1/2024.
Licensee’s 'Mandated Reporter Training' certification (AB1207) was current, expiring: 5/21/2024.

Licensee’s is conduct, and document emergency disaster drills once every 6 months, with last drill done on: 3/20/2023, properly logged.

Required posting are posted, including Childcare License, Notification of Parent’s Rights (PUB379), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610A). The ‘Earthquake Preparedness Checklist’ (LIC9148) was provided during inspection.

Per licensee, isolation of ill children is in playroom. Licensee has one dog and cat on-site. Per licensee, all pets are vaccinated.

Per licensees, they provide all snack, foods services for children in care. LPA advised licensee to ensure meal containers brought by families must be labeled with child’s name. Per licensee, home does not have any firearms.

Licensee was reminded all adults, 18 years and over, living or working in the home, including employee and volunteers, must obtain criminal clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/ day up to $500.00 maximum per day/ per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep Web page at:https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesource/child-care-licesning/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on United States consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at http://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Based on today's inspection, no deficiencies were observed in areas evaluated according to California Title 22, Div. 12 Chap. 3 Health and Safety Code of Regulations. In exit interview, evaluation report was discussed with Licensees, Erica and Marc Ramos, and signature of this form acknowledges receipt of these documents.

Notice of Site Visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
