Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the Site Director, Sandy Xie, and a staff. All adults were fingerprinted. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. There were 6 children with a staff present. The facility’s operation hours for Pandemic are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00am. The facility for the program is on the lower level of a commercial building. There is a tenant in the second level of the building that does not have access to the facility and outdoor space. The facility runs a Preschool program in a one big classroom with an attached outdoor playground in the back of the building. The temperature and lighting were adequate. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning equipment and children's furniture available for the children indoor. All equipment and furniture were in good condition. The facility had the first aid supplies available in the classroom. There were right number of cubbies available for the children to store their own belongings. The facility had the shoe shelves to store available for children and staff by the main entrance. All electrical outlets were covered. The facility installed a gate at the stairway to prevent children access the off-limit area. There was a staff bathroom available in the center. Cots were used for napping with children's name. All the children's beddings were stored in the cubbies. There were 2 water fountains available in the center. The facility also provided bottle water for the children if necessary. Per Site director, there were no guns, weapons, or pets in the facility, the facility provides AM/PM snacks to the children. The children bring their own lunch to the facility daily. LPA inspected the food preparation area. It was clean and no harmful object. The lower cabinet was latched. The children's bathroom with 2 sinks and 2 toilets was clean and no harmful object in it. The outdoor playground was completely fenced. The playground was clean and in order. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, climbing structure, slide, ride-on-toys, and children's furniture available for the children. The facility also installed the artificial turf underneath the play structures and slide as the soft cushioning to prevent injury. Per the site director, there was a child on special medication. LPA reviewed the medication and medical document during inspection. At least one staff had a current CPR/First Aid training certificate available for review during the inspection. All Children and staff files were reviewed during the inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the current children roster during the inspection. All staff had completed the Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207). The certificates were reviewed during the inspection. The facility had hand sanitizer, Thermometer, and disinfectant available in the daycare area to prevent COVID19. All required postings were posted.
