The facility was found clean, well-maintained, and free from hazards. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and toxic substances were inaccessible to the children. All accessible cabinets and drawers in the classrooms contained no hazardous materials.
The facility was equipped with age-appropriate toys, furniture, and learning materials. Each child had a designated storage area. A diaper-changing table was observed in the adult bathroom, and LPA reminded the director that children are not permitted to use the adult bathroom except for diaper changing purposes. The bathroom was clean, fully operational, and with essential sanitation supplies.
The facility has an outdoor waiver approved by the Department, which allows no more than 15 children at a time. LPA observed one group of nine children, accompanied by two staff members, in the outdoor playground, meeting the outdoor waiver requirements. The outdoor playground was clean and free of debris, with a fence at least four feet tall. Play equipment was in good condition, with no sharp, loose, or pointed parts. No pools, spas, or bodies of water were present on the property.
The facility provides lunch and snacks for its children. The facility has two water drinking stations for its children. According to the director, none of the children require prescribed medication or have allergies.
LPA observed that cots were provided for the children in care. The facility requires parents to supply blankets and sheets for their children, which must be washed on a weekly basis. According to the director, the facility sanitized the cots weekly.
LPA reviewed five children’s files and found them to be complete, including all required licensing forms.
LPA reviewed five staff files and found four to be complete, including all required licensing forms, with valid Pediatric First Aid/CPR and Mandated Reporter Training certificates. Five staff transcripts were reviewed and found to meet the educational requirements for Early Childhood Education, qualifying them to serve as teachers.
