25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the capacity increase that the licensee applied for it on 11/17/21. LPA met with a licensee, Xing Chun Ruan. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. There were 4 children that included 2 infants with licensee present. The SF Fire Marshal had inspected the facility and approved it on 12/21/21. The CCL also received a copy of it on 12/23/21. The licensee converted the ground level into an in-law with a Big room with a bathroom available for the children. The licensee wanted to move the daycare from the upper level to the ground level. The daycare areas will be the entire lower level and Front & Back yards on the side of the house. The off-limit areas will be the entire upper level and a garage. LPA inspected the new daycare areas for health and safety hazards. The lighting and temperature were adequate in the facility. There was a fully charged 2A10BC Fire extinguisher, 2 in 1 smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies available. LPA didn't test the smoke and carbon monoxide detector due to the children were napping during the inspection, but it was a wired detector with an indicator in Green color. There were some of the age-appropriate toys books, playhouses, play kitchen, learning materials, and children's furniture available. The children's furniture was in good condition and repair. A high chair was available in the daycare areas. The electrical outlets had built in internal blockage.. Most of the daycare equipment and toys were still being used on the upper level during the inspection. The licensee will move all daycare equipment from the upper level when the new daycare area will be approved by CCL. The alarms were installed to door access to the garage and a back door to prevent children's access to the off-limit areas. Per licensee, the daycare's main entrance will be a side door in the backyard. It will be more convenient for the parents to drop off and pick up. The children's bathroom was clean and free of the harmful object. The size of the sink and towel bowl was good for the children. The outdoor play area was completely fenced. The entire backyard area was covered by concrete. The licensee installed a gate at the stairway. There were some ride-on toys, a sandbox, and a wooden picnic table available for children.
The following items have to be completed before CCL approves the area:
- Gate has to be installed in the laundry area.
- An alarm or Chime has to be installed at the daycare main entrance (Side door in the backyard)
- A childproof knob has to be installed to a door that is connected to a foyer on the ground level.
