25 | On 7/6/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanson Leong, made a scheduled case management visit to the child daycare facility listed above. The Department received an application from the Licensee requesting a capacity increase from 44 children to 64 children. The LPA was granted entry by the Director, Marie-Louise Nastke. All the individuals listed on the facility’s roster have been granted permission to work or be present in a childcare facility. During today’s visit, there were no children present in the preschool program because the facility is on summer break. There were children present from a summer program, which is exempt from state licensure.
LPA and the Director conducted a search for potential health and safety hazards in the child daycare facility The indoor and outdoor spaces that had previously been licensed did not undergo any changes. According to the Director, renovations to Room 102 was completed in December 2022. The measurement of Room 102 came to 623.5 square feet. The facility will now operate from room #1 (Cayote), room #2 (Parrots), a multipurpose room, and room 102. The size of classroom room #2, also known as the Parrot, was determined to be 684.03 square feet during a previous inspection. Because of the newly added classroom, room 102, the total square footage has increased to 3502.80 square feet, which can accommodate 100 children. The newly constructed classroom is clean, appears to be in good repair, and has adequate lighting and ventilation. It appears that each piece of furniture and piece of equipment is in excellent shape, and there is plenty storage space for the things of the children. The facility now features 5 toilets, which can accommodate 75 children, as well as 5 sinks, which can accommodate 75 children. The Director requested the new room numbers to be changed on their license.
A prior measurement determined that the outside areas were 1575 square feet, which is sufficient space for a maximum of 21 children. The facility is currently in possession of an outdoor waiver that was approved by the Department during the Pre-Licensing process. This waiver gave the facility the ability to have a programmed rotation of outdoor usage. *** See Page 2 for continuation*** |
