25 | On October 20, 2022 at approximately 1:40 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Garcia arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced Annual Inspection, and met with the Licensee Ruth Hernandez. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present there were 5 children in care with the Licensee and 2 employees taking care of the children, during nap time. Licensee was operating in compliance to the required licensed capacity and ratio limits, as of today. Per Licensee, she lives upstairs of the 2 story home and the day care area is the whole lower level. LPA verified the background check clearance of the adults working or living in the home. The hours of operation are: M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Per Licensee the children brings their own lunch, and AM/PM snacks, with their water bottles.
Day-care Area: Lower Level: Playroom, Bathroom#1 and Backyard Area. Off-limit Area: Entire Upper Level: Kitchen, Living Room, Bedroom#2, Bedroom#3 and Bathroom#2. Lower Level: Garage and Laundry Area LPA and Licensee inspected the entire childcare area for Health and Safety hazards. LPA observed that off limit areas were locked and made inaccessible to the children in care. There was a combined carbon monoxide and smoke detector in the home. LPA performed the tests to check the functionality of the detector. 2 Fully charged fire extinguisher of size 3A40BC was also available in the home located in the kitchen and entrance. First Aid kit is fully stocked and accessible. Per Licensee, there are no firearms or weapons in the home. Licensee states, there are no bodies of water in the home. The door knobs have child proof covers. The outdoor area has plant boxes, padding and shade with sports equipment and scooters available for the children.
LPA observed that the house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation and lighting. LPA observed that there is a variety of age-appropriate toys, books, and other learning material available in the home for the children in care. Electric outlets have built-in with child protective covers, and a working phone is on site.
