25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced case management for moving the daycare area from the upper level back to the lower level. LPA met with the licensee, BaoWen Lu (Angela), and explained the purpose of the inspection. Per the licensee's request, she wants to move her daycare area back to the lower level since the remodeling on the lower level has been completed. There were 2 children present upon LPA's arrival. LPA also met with 2 licensee's friends who helped her fix the backyard area during the inspection. LPA inspected the areas on the lower level for health and safety hazards. The in-law on the lower level has a bedroom, a living area with a food preparation area, and a bathroom. The in-law has a big sliding door to a deck and backyard. The daycare areas are the entire in-law including a bedroom, a bathroom, a living area with a food preparation area, and a deck. The off-limit areas are the entire upper level, garage, and backyard. The daycare areas were clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. Childproof knobs were installed on the doors of the main entrance, garage, a storage room in the bathroom. The licensee also installed hooks to the doors of the storage in the living area and a bedroom. A gate was installed at the stairway to the upper level and a deck to the backyard. The licensee installed the soft cushioning on the entire floor in the living area and the bedroom to prevent injury. All the electrical outlets were the updated TL version that has built-in blockage. The drawers at the food preparation area were latched. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, and children's furniture available. The facility had a fully charged 2A10bc fire extinguisher, a working 2in1 smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies available in the facility. The licensee also covers the faucets with soft cushioning at the deck. The children's bathroom had 2 toilets (one adult size and one child size) and 2 sinks (one adult size and one child size) available for children. LPA did not observe any harmful object in the bathroom. The lower sink drawers were free of harmful objects. LPA also suggested the licensee install a gate in the hallway between the main entrance to the living area to prevent children from accessing to the off-limit area. The daycare areas on the lower level were approved during the inspection. The licensee can relocate the daycare from the upper level to the lower level as soon as possible.
