25 | On June 7, 2022 at approximately 10:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with licensee, Joy Ryan, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present in the home were licensee, licensee's three helpers (H1, H2, and H3), and 10 enrolled children (all preschool age). Facility is operating within capacity ratio and requirements on this date. All adults living and/or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Licensee rents the home which is a multi-level, family home. The home consists of two levels. The DAY CARE AREAS are on the first level of the home that includes living room (preschool room #1), dining room (preschool room #2), bathroom #1, art room, and backyard area. The OFF-LIMITS AREAS are the kitchen, family room (located on first level of home), and entire second level of home. Off limit areas are barricaded with child safety gates and/or child safety handles.
At approximately 10:45am, LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee. LPA observed home to be in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children on facility's high shelves and/or off limit areas. There was a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, fully charged fire extinguisher and working phone on site. Phone number listed for licensee is current. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home.
LPA did not observe any pools, spas or bodies of water on the property. The backyard is enclosed with an least 5ft high fence. Backyard contains stairs that are properly barricaded with gates. The backyard is equipped with appropriate outdoor toys and equipment that are in good working condition.
