25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Shayna Massa, and her helper. All adutls had fingerprint clearance. There were 2 infants with a helper present upon LPA arrival. The facility was called " Shayna's Family Day Care". The operation hours were Monday to Thursday from 8:00AM to 5:30PM; Friday was from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. The licensee rented a single family house with 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, living room, and backyard. The licensee lived with her husband, and her 2 children ,in the house. The daycare was located on the ground level. Per licensee, she wanted to add her office and the backyard to the daycare areas. LPA inspected the areas for health and safety hazards. The outdoor area was completely fenced. Licensee installed gates at the stairways. Licensee also installed the artificial Turf to the ground to prevent injury. The licensee's office was clean and free of harmful objects. All the electrical outlets had the internal child proof blockage. The areas were inspected and approved during the inspection. The daycare areas were the entire ground level and backyard . The off-limit areas were the entire first and second levels.. LPA inspected for health and safety hazards. There were a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working 2 in 1 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, working cellular phone and first aid supplies available in the daycare. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, slide and children furniture available Cribs and cots were used as sleeping equipment. Diaper changing table was available in the daycare areas. All the lower kitchen cabinets and drawers were either latched or free of harmful objects. All toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible for children. Right amount of cubbies were available for children to store their personal belongings. All electrical outlets had internal child proof blockage. All sharp corners were covered. The licensee installed the soft cushioning to the floor in the rooms to prevent injury. Per licensee, there were no children on special medication. The licensee has provided AM/PM snacks and lunch to the daycare children. All required postings were posted. LPA reviewed the children and staff files during inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the current children's roster form the licensee during the inspection. The licensee and her helper had current Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207), they will expire in 6/2023 and 8/2023. LPA discussed the 15 mins nap check for 24 months or younger children with the licensee during the inspection. The facility has conducted the emergency drill 2 times a year and logged. The licensee and her helper had current CPR/First Aid training, they will expire in 5/2023.
