25 | On November 22nd, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janet Gil conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with licensee, Miho Namba, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPA’s visit included licensee, spouse, assistant, and licensee's own child. Per licensee, her home day care had a Thanksgiving event earlier in the day and all enrolled children left with parents or authorized representatives by the time of inspection. The licensee is a large license and is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
Licensee rents home, which is a 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, multi level home. Licensee lives in home with spouse, and minor child. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance. Facility operates Monday Through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Day Care Areas: Living room, Dining room, Bedroom #1, and Bathroom
Off Limit Areas: The kitchen, Bedroom #2, and the Laundry Room on the Second floor; the entire ground floor, including the garage, the backyard, and two storage spaces are all off-limits. All off-limit areas have been adequately gated.
At approximately 1:30 PM, LPA toured day care areas of home with licensee. LPA observed the home to be in repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in working condition. A first aid kit is located in the lower level storage area. LPA did not observe any accessible cleaning supplies, poisons, and solutions in day care areas. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with furniture. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and multiple smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in each room. Licensee does not have any children in care with allergies or IMS plans. Per licensee, she provides a morning snack and an afternoon snack for the children in care. Parents and authorized representatives provide lunches for the enrolled children.
At approximately 2:00 PM, LPA observed bathroom for children's use was in proper working condition. LPA observed bathroom to include appropriate toileting equipment and sanitation products. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials to be accessible to children in the bathroom.
