25 | On August 16, 2023 at 1:35 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Cowan conducted an unannounced annual and increase capacity Inspection and met with Licensee Wei Xiang Zheng. The Regional office has received an application to increase licensee's capacity from a small license to a large license. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspections and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Present in the facility is licensee and helper caring for 6 preschool age children. Licensee lives in a 2 bedroom apartment with two minor children. Facility was inspected and Daycare areas are: Living Room, dining area, bedroom 1, and bathroom. The rest of the home is off-limits. The days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:45 PM.
LPA observed the following: Day-care area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children. Home has sufficient lighting and ventilation. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. There are no bodies of water on the property. There are no poisons, detergents, or cleaning products accessible to day-care children. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. Licensee’s CPR expires in 12/2024. Licensee conducted last emergency drill on 6/20/23 and is properly logged. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals.
At 1:47 PM, LPA reviewed facility files. All children and staff have immunizations on file. Licensee has all required postings posted for parents to review.
*Licensee was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption.
*Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.
*Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website (www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com)
*Licensee was given information regarding ‘Safe Sleep’ practices.
