25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Dina Binstok and Ruth Bibas (helper/a licensee at another location), and explained the purpose of the inspection to them. Per Ruth, she helps at this facility before her daycare at another location starting from 4:30 pm to 7 PM daily. She leaves this facility for her facility before 4:30 pm daily. There were 7 children (Preschoolers) with the licensee and helper present. The licensee said she has a total of 15 children including part-time and full-time children. The licensee rents and lives with a female roommate in this 2 stories single family house. All adults have fingerprint clearance. The house has two bedrooms, 1 bath, a living room, Kitchen with an adjacent dining area on the second floor. The ground level had a playroom, activity room, food preparation area, bathroom, and garage. The Daycare areas are the entire ground level and backyard. The off-limit areas are the entire upper level and the garage. The daycare's entrance is next to the garage door. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order, the temperature and lighting were adequate, and all toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials & equipment, a fake kitchen, a light box on the top of a table, and children's furniture that was in good condition and repaired. There was a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working 2in1 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and first aid supplies available in the facility. All the electrical outlets and sharp corners were covered. All the lower kitchen cabinets and drawers had no harmful objects. The children's bathroom was clean and in order. The lower bathroom sink cabinet and drawers were free of harmful objects. The facility had no guns, weapons, or pets in the house. Cots were used for napping. The facility has provided AM/PM snacks and lunch to the daycare children. The outdoor play area was completely fenced, clean, and in order. The outdoor play area was separated into 2 sections (lower and upper) by a deck with a fence. The licensee installed the artificial grass turf to the entire ground on the lower section to prevent injury. There were plenty of age-appropriate outdoor toys, ride-on toys, climbing structures, climbing rope knotted Swing Ladders, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired available outdoors. There was a yellow tape at the step between play and activity rooms to alert the children & adults. LPA reviewed the children and staff files and obtained a copy of the current children's roster during the inspection. CPR/First Aid training for the licensee and a helper will expire on 9/2025 & 6/2024. A helper had current Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training that will expire in 2025. Per the licensee, there were 2 children on special medication.
