The licensee confirmed that there are no firearms or weapons on the premises.
The backyard is surrounded by a fence and free of debris. Outdoor play equipment is available for children to use and is in good condition. LPA did not find any pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the property.
Food service is provided by the licensee, which includes breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. The children use disposable plates and children’s cups. The children’s cups are cleaned by hand after the children leave for the day.
Cots were observed available for the preschool-aged children to nap on. The parents provide blankets, and the facility launders them weekly.
LPA reviewed facility records, which included the records of five enrolled children, the licensee's record, and the two assistants. All five children's records are complete. LPA observed that the licensee and the two assistants' CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter Training certifications are still current.
The child care insurance policy was requested, and the licensee stated that she was unable to locate it. LPA reminded that the child care insurance policy shall be available for review. A copy of the tuberculosis (TB) test for S3 was requested, and the licensee informed the LPA that it was not available. LPA reminded that S3’s TB test must be placed in her file.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
