25 | On 5/13/2024 at 8:40AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Site Supervisor, Jacqueline Slayton. The purpose of today's inspection was explained and was for an Unannounced, Annual Random inspection. Facility is preschool, combination center with an infant/toddler program on site. Program Director, Dee Lee arrived during inspection. Present were 3 staff supervising 12 children. The preschool program utilizes one classroom: Sea Turtles, and the Outdoor Play Space. Waiver for rotational use outdoor play space observed posted in lobby. LPA inspected this facility for health and safety hazards.
At 8:55AM., LPA observed the following: Classroom was clean, orderly, with age-appropriate materials and supplies. The walkways and ground surfaces were clear of any obstructions or hazards. The children tables and chairs, scaled to the proper size. For storage, labeled cubbies are available for children’s belongings. The children’s bathroom area was observed clean, with fixtures in operating condition. Classroom had several cabinets with locks installed. LPA observed diaper changing table available for the staff. Per staff, the padding on table is disinfected after each use. For solid waste, trash bins area available with tight-fitting lids. Electrical outlets in classroom had coverings installed.
For scheduled rest/ nap, classroom has cleanable plastic cots, labeled with each child’s name. Per staff, napping sheets and blankets are washed every Friday. The classroom had adequate ventilation, lighting, and was a comfortable temperature. Classrooms have a functioning telephone service; carbon monoxide (CO) detector; and fully changed fire extinguishers: 2A:10BC. The cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and other items which could pose a danger, have been stored inaccessible to children. (REFER TO 809c, FOR CONT.)
