25 | On 3/21/2023 at 8:40AM., Licensing Program Analyst, Luis J. Gomez met with Director, Sophia Adler. Purpose of the inspection was explained and is for an Unannounced Annual/ Random inspection. This is a combination center, with a preschool program on-site. Present was director and six staff supervising 16 children. Children present had been signed in. Staff present have criminal record clearances of file. Infant/ Toddler program utilizes two rooms: Blue Whales: Toddler classroom; Jelly Fish: Infant classroom, and one, shared, Outdoor Play Space. Day and hours of operation are Monday- Friday 7:30am- 5:30pm. Program operates year-round. LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards.
At 8:55AM., LPA observed the following: Classrooms were clean, orderly, with age-appropriate playthings available for the children. Floors and surfaces inspected were free of obstructions. Classrooms are equipped have labeled cubbies for storage of children’s belongings. Child sized tables, chairs, and infant feeding chairs are available. For napping services, LPA observed infant cribs located separate from the activity area. Cribs have tight-fitting sheets, visibility on all sides, and properly sized mattresses. Per director, children’s napping linins and sheets are washed weekly on-site. Children bathroom was maintained clean with adequate supplies, and diaper changing tables. Diaper changing tables are located was within arm’s reach of a sink. Classrooms have acceptable ventilation and lighting. Trash bins for solid waste, and outlets have been covered. Staff restrooms is located separate. Facility detergents, cleaning supplies and sharp/ hazardous objects were made inaccessible. Classroom had built in, smoke detector, testable carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC).
