25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) ,Mok, conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the Large Family Child Care Home today. LPA met with the licensee, Munkhzaya Sengee (Zaya), and her 3 minor children and explained the purpose of the inspection to her. The facility had 6 children included 3 infants and 3 preschoolers present. One of the preschoolers was the licensee's child napping upon LPA's arrival. The licensee applied for the Large Family Child Care Home on 11/2/2022. The licensee wanted to add a sunroom to the daycare areas. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The sunroom was next to the dining room in the back of the house. It was clean and in order. All electrical outlets were covered in the room; Other daycare areas were clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate in the facility. All toxins and harmful objects were locked or made inaccessible for the daycare children. The facility had working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and first aid supplies available in the facility. The licensee installed gates at the stairway to the upper level and the entrance of the main daycare area (living room) to prevent children from accessing the off-limit areas. The fireplace was blocked. The facility had plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, ride-on toys, learning materials, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired indoors. The children's bathroom was clean and free of harmful object or items in the lower bathroom sink cabinet. The licensee installed soft cushioning in the daycare areas as the soft cushioning to prevent injury. Playpens and cribs were used as napping equipment, The outdoor play area was completely fenced. The licensee installed a gate at the stairway. There were plenty of age-appropriate outdoor toys, ride-on toys, playhouses, slides, and swing structures with soft cushioning underneath. The licensee installed soft cushioning to part of the outdoor play area to prevent injury. Daycare areas will be the living room, dining room, sunroom, bathroom next to the sunroom, and front part of the outdoor yard that was close to the house. The off-limit areas will be the entire upper level, the kitchen on the first level, and the entire lower level, except for the backyard. CCL received a fire clearance approval on 10/28/22. LPA discussed baby bouncers or similar items cannot be used in the daycare with the licensee during the inspection; Otherwise, a deficiency will be issued.
The following items have to be completed prior to the approval:
- The licensee must install window locks to the big window in the living room and the windows in the sunroom to limit the window to be opened up to 4 inches.
