25 | On March 6, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with the Director, LayLay Eung, for an unannounced inspection of the Plan of Correction (POC). LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to the Director, who then granted LPA entry to the Center. Three staff members, including the director, were supervising 17 children. During the visit, another teacher arrived, and six more children were dropped off.
During the plan of correction inspection on February 15, 2024, the Center was found to have multiple deficiencies. These included the Center operating beyond its licensed capacity and not having an assigned or designated substitute director when the site Director was absent.
During today's inspection, LPA found that the Center was operating within its licensed capacity and limitations. The Site Director had submitted the children's rosters and a written plan of correction for the over-capacity deficiency. Moreover, LPA spoke with the supposed substitute Director, Jin Song (Annie), who confirmed that she understood her role as a designated substitute director when the site director was absent. All the deficiencies cited on February 15, 2024, have been cleared today.
An exit interview and consultation were conducted with the Director. No deficiencies were observed in today's inspection. The Director, LayLay Eung, read and signed the report. Today's report and notice of the site were provided to the Director. LPA informed the Licensee that a site visit notification must be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
