A gun or other weapon is present on the premises. During the inspection, LPA reviewed its storage location and found the gun locked, with the magazine stored separately in a different location. According to the licensee, no ammunition is currently present at home.
The most recent fire & earthquake drill was completed on December 11, 2025, and adequately documented.
The backyard was fully fenced, with age-appropriate playthings, and free of any hazards or debris that could pose a risk to the children in care. Artificial grass is placed underneath the play structure to prevent accidental falls.
LPA noticed two full-sized cribs, one in the living room and the other in the dining room. Both were observed free of toys, blankets, or pillows inside. The mattresses fit their dimensions, and the bed sheets were snugly secured. The 15-minute sleep logs for infants were checked, and it was noted that the licensee had accurately documented the logs, including the date, time, and staff initials.
LPA reminded the licensee that sleeping sacks are not allowed. LPA also reminded the licensee to maintain a minimum of 30 days of logs for review during the annual inspection and to keep the records for 3 years.
LPA reviewed the children's records. The Licensee maintains complete records for all children in her care, including vaccination records and Parental Rights forms. LPA noted that each child had a complete emergency information card that included the child's full name, phone number, and the location of a parent or authorized person who may be called in an emergency.
Both licensees have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification on file, along with up-to-date Mandated Reporter Training certificates and immunization records.
All required licensing postings, including the facility license, parents' notification, and earthquake preparedness checklist, were posted correctly.
LPA discussed and informed the Licensee that she must be at home during childcare operation hours to ensure that the children in her care are always supervised. When the licensee must be absent from the house, the temporary absence should not exceed 20 percent of the hours the facility provides care per day.
