The daycare provides age-appropriate toys, furniture, and learning materials. The daycare is equipped with child safety gates to all off-limits areas, outlet covers for all electrical outlets, child safety door covers for all doors leading to off-limits areas, and locks on cabinets accessible to children.
The licensee confirmed that there are no firearms or weapons on the premises.
The backyard is surrounded by a fence and free of debris. Outdoor play equipment is available for children to use and is in good condition. LPA did not find any pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the property.
The facility provides a morning snack, breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack for the children. One child has an Epi-Pen on site, which was observed to have a current prescription label in their original packaging.
LPAs observed that cribs and toddler nap travel mats were provided for the children in care. Sheets are provided by the facility and are cleaned on a weekly basis or as needed. The crib mattresses were observed to be firm, covered with a fitted sheet, and to have no loose articles or objects.
LPA reviewed five children’s files, which were found to be complete and included all required licensing forms. Sleep logs for the four infants were reviewed and found to be complete, which included the dates and signatures from the staff.
LPA reviewed three staff files, which were also complete and included all required licensing forms, with valid Pediatric First Aid/CPR and Mandated Reporter Training certificates.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
