25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an announced Prelicensing inspection today. LPA met with WANG, SHAOthe licensee, Shao Hua Wang (Eva), and licensee's husband. There was a daycare infant present during the inspection. The licensee applied for relocation on 2/8/2023. The licensee had the existing licensed daycare in San Francisco (#384002363). The licensee owned and lived with her husband, and her minor son in this 2 stories single family house. The house had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen on the upper level; it also had a garage and a backyard on the lower level. The licensee had completely moved into this house. The daycare areas will be the a living room, a dining room, and a bathroom. The off-limit areas will be a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a backyard. LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. The house was clean and in-order; temperature and lighting were adequate; toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. The licensee blocked the fireplace with a cabinet that stored the toys. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials, fake kitchen, ride-on toys and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired available indoors. All the sharp corners were covered. The licensee installed the window lock the living room windows allowing the windows to be opened up to 4 inches. There were a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, at least a working 2 in 1 smoke and carbon monoxide detector, working cellular phone, and first aid supplies available in the house. The licensee installed the soft cushioning to the floor in the daycare areas to prevent injury. The children's bathroom was clean and free of harmful objects. The lower bathroom sink cabinet was free of harmful object. The licensee had the childproof knobs to install to the children's bathroom door. Cribs and play pen were available for napping. Per licensee, there were no weapons, no guns, and no pets in the house.
The following items have to be completed before licensure:
- install a window lock to the window in the dining room.
- install a gate at the stairway, and kitchen entrance.
- licensee needs to block or barricade the wood railing by the stairway
