On August 14, 2023., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted case management Prelicensing relocation and met with Site Director Kausar Wildman. The purpose of the inspection is regarding an emergency temporary relocation due to a landslide at Corona Heights Park, which affects the Preschool. The Park is currently under construction. Park and Recreation estimated the construction would take until September 2024. In the meantime, the Rocky Mountain Participation Nursery School is relocated to Jose Coronado Park, located at 2498 Folsom Street. Days and hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-2:450 PM.

During today’s inspection, a physical plant was toured, including indoor and outdoor space. In addition, Indoor space and outdoor were also measured for health and safety hazards. The classroom was measured and was 714.49 square feet, allowing for a capacity of 20 children. Inside the classroom are two toilets and two sinks, allowing 30 children. A separate staff bathroom is available. The Park & Recreation has designated an exclusive area for outdoor use for the Center. Per Director, Park & Rec has designated 1600 sq feet located in the soccer field, allowing for a capacity of 21 children. In addition, although it is not an exclusive use, the facility can also use the children’s play structure on the west side. During the inspection, LPA requested the Director to obtain from Park & Rec a letter of approval for the exclusive use of the mentioned square footage. There is drinking water available for children indoors and outdoors. All cleaning products and disinfectants are stored in the staff bathroom, inaccessible to children.

The facility is adequately furnished with age-appropriate toys, furniture, equipment, and first aid supplies. There is a designated area for children’s belongings, and hooks were installed for children’s backpacks. A fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide (CO) detector are present. Parents will provide lunch for their children; the facility will provide a morning and afternoon snack. No pools, spas, hot tubs, fishponds, or similar bodies of water are present. Per Director, there are no firearms or weapons on site.

The classroom is set up for childcare, and furniture and equipment for children are present. The isolation area for a sick child will be separated from the group in the staff area. The facility had posted all the required license forms in a prominent, accessible location: Parent's Rights, Emergency Disaster Plan, and license will be posted when received.

This facility meets the licensing requirements to operate a childcare center. The capacity this facility could be licensed for is 20 preschool children. However, it also depends on the outcome of the Fire clearance; the capacity could change. Once fire clearance is approved and received, then licensure will be recommended.

No deficiencies were cited today. An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with the Director, Kausar Wildman. Today's report and site visit notice was provided to the Director. LPA informed the Director that the site visit notice must be
