Children's restroom is located in Classroom #1 with 2 toilets and 2 sinks. There is an additional children's restroom in Classroom #3 that children will have access to when needed. Per applicant, children's restroom in Classroom #3 will be for children's use when children are in the outdoor area. Total allowable capacity of toilets is 45 children. Total allowable capacity of sinks is 45 children. Toilets and sinks were observed to be in proper working condition, equipped with appropriate sanitation products.
Outdoor: The outdoor area measures 1,032 sq ft. allowing for a total of 13 children. Applicant plans to submit a waiver request. Entire outdoor area is fully enclosed and fenced. There is a fire escape area in the outdoor area that is also fully enclosed and fenced. Outdoor area includes a variety of toys and equipment. There is a climbing/hanging structure that has resilient padding underneath. Sufficient shade is provided by multiple gazebos.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Maximum capacity facility can be licensed for is 26 preschool children based on previous licensee's capacity. LPA will approve a provisional license for 26 preschool children when fire clearance is received.
LPA will approve a regular license when entire application and pending documentation has been reviewed and accepted.
