Program does not plan to provide a food service at this time. Families will be required to provide their child with morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and individual water bottles. There are snacks available on site, if needed. LPA reminded applicant children's personal items must be labeled with children's individual names.
Outdoor: The outdoor area is located directly outside the "Nest" classroom that includes a covered turf area, play structure, and basketball court. Total outdoor area measures for 4,357.48 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 58 children. There is a play structure that was observed to have resilient padding underneath. Outdoor area has sufficient shade coverings. Preschool program also has access to second floor garden and soccer field. LPA reminded applicant children must always be supervised going to and from the outdoor areas. LPA observed outdoor area to be entirely enclosed and fenced. LPA did not observe any spas, bodies of water or pools on site.
LPA reviewed with applicant, the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
LPA reminded applicant to conduct and document emergency disaster drills at least once every six months. The requirement for Lead Water Testing was discussed (H&S Code 1597.16). Applicant was reminded a facility licensed after July 1, 2022, must have their water fixtures tested for lead 180 days after licensure and every 5 years thereafter. LPA advised applicant to review PIN 21-21-CCP. Program purchases bottled water that is delivered to facility.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education
website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
