Infant Outdoor Play measurements are:
Outdoor total measurements contain a total of 793.5 square feet, which will not accommodate applicant’s request for 66 infants but can accommodate 10 infants. Licensee representative will submit waiver request for staggered playtime.
Toddler Outdoor Play measurements are:
Outdoor total measurements contain a total of 1,474.20 square feet, which will not accommodate applicant’s request for 44 toddlers but can accommodate 19 toddlers. Licensee representative will submit waiver request for staggered playtime.
Preschool Outdoor Play measurements are:
Outdoor total measurements contain a total of 3,284.47 square feet, which will not accommodate applicant’s request for 130 preschool children but can accommodate 43 preschoolers. Licensee representative will submit waiver request for staggered playtime.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected today. LPA informed center director that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. Classrooms were observed to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. All outdoor and indoor passageways and other areas of potential hazard were free of obstruction. A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times.
LPA reminded center director that the toddler class should always maintain the ratio of 1 fully qualified teacher per every group of 12 toddlers. LPA reviewed Regulation 101216.3(a) Teacher-Child Ratio. According to Regulation 101216.3(a), it reads There shall be a ratio of one teacher visually observing and supervising no more than 12 children in attendance, except as specified in (b) and (c) below. Regulation 101216.3(a)(1) states The number of children in attendance shall not exceed licensed capacity.
Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age appropriate. Tables and chairs were observed to meet the needs of the children. There are 195 chairs, 27 tables, 26 cribs, 200 cots with the intent to purchase more, 17 toilets, 9 changing tables, and 27 sinks available for infant, toddler, and preschool children. Isolation area for sick children will be the office, children have access to staff bathroom and remain separated from remaining children.
