25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an announced prelicensing inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Sammi Wu, her husband, and her minor son. The licensee applied for the relocation from the previous location with license #384002705. There was no daycare children because the daycare is closed for a week, The licensee owns and lives with her husband and her 3 minor children in this 2 stories single family house that 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, an open kitchen, and a deck on the upper level; an in-law with 2 rooms (eating room with a food preparation area and sleeping room), a playroom and a bathroom, garage, a deck, and backyard with 3 sections on the lower level. The daycare areas are the in-laws with a dining room, a playroom, a sleeping room, and the whole backyard. A deck on the lower level is used as a pathway to the backyard. There was a gate at the stairway. (Daycare children cannot stay there for any activities). The off-limit areas are the entire upper level, garage, & a deck on the lower level. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The licensee installed gates at the main daycare entrance and the stairway to the upper level. The licensee latched the lower kitchen sink cabinet and the lower kitchen drawers were free of harmful objects. The licensee covered the sharp corners. All the electrical outlets were TL type (it has an internal child-proof blockage). There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials, soft blocks, a fake kitchen, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired. There was a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working wired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and first aid supplies available. Playpens and mats are used for napping. The children's bathroom was clean It has 2 children's size of toilet bowls available for the children. The lower bathroom sink drawers were free of harmful objects. The outdoor yard was completely fenced, The backyard is divided into 3 sections by metal fences with gates. The licensee installed the fake grass to the middle yard as the soft cushioning. The first section that is close to the house is the concrete floor and the last section that is located at the end of the yard that will be used for gardening purposes. There was a side gate at the fence, Per the licensee, she will have guns that will be kept in a Gun safe. She will inform CCL whenever she has it in this location.
The following items have to be completed before licensure:
- installed a chime at the side gate at the fence,
- installed a gate at the outdoor stairway.
- installed gates at both sides of the underneath the deck on the ground level.
- Licensee must completely move into this location.
