25 | On June 14, 2024 at approximately 2:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted a follow-up pre-licensing visit to Building Kidz at Pacific Heights. LPA met with applicant, Eman Isbeh, and explained the purpose of the visit.
Present during visit included 17 preschool children and 3 staff.
Program is a currently licensed preschool program with a capacity of 36 preschool children. Applicant requested to add an infant component to facility. Applicant requested to add an infant component (11 months to 24 months) for 5 infants in the back classroom (classroom #2). Fire inspection was conducted on June 13, 2024. Fire clearance has not yet been obtained as of this date.
Infant component will operate in portion of back classroom (classroom #2). Second portion of back classroom will remain preschool area.
LPA conducted an initial pre-licensing visit on April 4, 2024. During initial visit, LPA measured the infant area for 198.7 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 5 infants. Preschool side was measured for 363.88 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 10 preschool children.
Front classroom (classroom #1) was previously measured for 709.15 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 20 children. Total indoor capacity equals 1,271.73 sq. ft allowing for a capacity of 36 children (5 infants and 31 preschool age).
During initial pre-licensing visit, wall partition separating infant and preschool area had not yet been set up to separate the infant and preschool area. During today's visit, no measurements were taken. LPA inspected infant area with wall partition for health and safety hazards.
LPA observed infant area to be equipped with appropriate toys and materials. Flooring in infant area includes carpet that is free of stains. Infants will sleep on floor mats and cots. LPA did not observe any accessible poisons or chemicals in the infant area. Wall partition is at least 4 ft. high and includes a child safety gate that was in good condition. There is a diaper changing table in the classroom that is within arm's reach to an adult sink.
