25 | On May 31, 2024 at approximately 9:15am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ly and Basak, conducted a scheduled Pre-Licensing inspection and met with Applicant, Samantha Tang. LPAs and Applicant inspected the entire home for Health and Safety Hazards. Applicant and spouse own this two story home and resides here with two minor children. Applicant has submitted proof of control property to the department. Per Applicant, she is planing to have her family child care operating days and hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm or base on parents' needs. Applicant also stated facility will be providing morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack to children in care.
Day Care is on the second floor. Day Care Areas are Living Room/Dining room as the main playroom, bathroom, the hallway by the bathroom.
Off Limit Areas on the second floor are Applicant's bedroom, Applicant's children's bedroom and the kitchen. On the ground floor, there's a family room, a guest bedroom, a bathroom, the backyard and the garage. The entire ground floor is off limit. Applicant’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid is valid until February 2026. Applicant has Completed Mandated Reporter Training and training is valid until 12/2025.
LPAs observed the home is clean orderly and properly ventilated. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPAs observed a 2A10BC Fire extinguisher, operable smoke detector and carbon monoxide in the kitchen area. LPAs observed no bodies of water nor fireplace in the home. Electrical outlets have child protective covers in place making them inaccessible to children. Chemical, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items of this nature are made inaccessible to children. Kitchen/Bathroom cabinets/drawers have child protective covers in place. Per Licensee, home does not have firearms or dangerous weapons. Facility will be using portable folding tables and floor mats for children to sit for meal and to do art and crafts. Per Licensee, older children will also be napping on foldable floor mats.
Home has age appropriate toys and equipment available for the children in care. Applicant is reminded of NO walker, exersaucers, jumpers, bouncers and any similar items to be used for children in care. Those items shall be made inaccessible to children. Discipline policy was discussed with applicant.
