Outdoors: The facility does not contain any outdoor play area. The program currently has an open space waiver on file. Program is licensed to utilize the children's playground at Sergeant John Macaulay Park located on the corner of O'Farrell St. and Larkin St. which is 0.3 miles away from the facility. Applicant is to submit a current park permit to utilize park, to department. Children are walked to and from facility in a stroller with staff. Applicant and director were reminded ratio to park is 1:2 children in care.
LPA reviewed with director, the LIC311A, Records to Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education
website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant, and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant and director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Based on square footage, maximum number can be licensed for is 20 children with toddler option not to exceed 8 children. LPA will approve of toddler option component with infant license when following is complete:
-Updated LIC500 and LIC610.
-Installation of carbon monoxide detector.
-Fire clearance
-Park permit from San Francisco Parks and Recreation is submitted.
-Management approval
