25 | On 07/21/2021 at 11:05 AM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Bruce Jacobs arrived unannounced to conduct a Health and Safety visit based on a report that the air conditioning system in the facility is inoperable. LPA met with Administrator Alma Whitted and explained the purpose of today’s inspection. LPA was allowed entry into the facility that is licensed to serve a total capacity of 96 clients. Current Census is 60.
The purpose of the visit was to check on the temperature in the facility as Licensing was informed the air conditioning system needs repair. LPA measured the temperature outside to be at 84 degrees and to be at 78*F in the common areas, 80* in the dining area, activity area , 82* in a hallway and 78* in offices. The facility stated they submitted a special incident report for a current infectious disease outbreak the previous week and for that reason, LPA Jacobs did not enter resident's rooms. The County Department of Public Health has been notified of the possible outbreak. The facility has purchased 70 portable air conditioning units, one for each room and several large portable cooling units until the AC system is repaired/replaced. Temperatures was within regulatory range of 68*F to 85*F. The Administrator was advised to contact Licensing should the condition change.
Per the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6, no deficiencies observed or cited. Exit interview held, copy of report given.
