Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Nguyen and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Chayntel Huner met Facility Representative/Assistant Directors, Tag Lind and Ashley Duval for the purpose of delivering the investigation findings for the above complaint allegations. LPA Nguyen disclosed the purpose of the inspection. LPA toured the facility inside and outside and observed care, ratios, and children supervision during today’s visit. There were seven (.7) infants and eleven (11) toddlers present and being supervised by seven (7) childcare teachers.

IIt was alleged that “Staff did not ensure drinking water was available to a daycare child,” and “Staff pulled daycare children’s ears.” Throughout the investigation, LPA conducted the observations and interviews with the director, assistant administrator, teachers, parents, and reporting party. During the interviews with childcare staff and parents, no information was disclosed to support the fact that staff did not ensure drinking water was available to a daycare child. The interviews produced conflicting information. During staff’s interview, LPA learned that childcare staff provided drinking water to daycare children by using water bottles brought from homes and having working water fountains accessible to children for drinking while the children attend the childcare center.
