13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra met with Program Administrator, Linda Craig and Site Supervisors Jennifer Her and Maribel Gonzales to deliver the finding for the above complaint allegations. Present in the facility were 11 staff caring for 54 children.
The Reporting Party (RP) alleged a child sustained unexplained injuries and facility has hazardous substances accessible to children in care. During the course of the investigation LPA Sierra interviewed staff, parents, children and obtained related documents. Interviews revealed staff found garbage like leaves, spider webs or disposable cups in the playground and material was removed before chidlren used the playground. Facility has a plan in place and designated staff to conduct an AM/PM daily outdoor/indoor safety checklist before facility open and before children use the playground. On 08/30/21 LPA conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the facilty and observed the facility playground. Playground is mostly covered with turf artificial grass and was free of any debris or hazards. Program Administrator stated on artificial grass surface is easy to clean up and observe anything that does get on the grass.
