25 | On 05/15/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra conducted a Case Management visit for the purpose of increasing capacity from 8 to 14 children and met with Licensee, Teresa Marquez. Fire safety inspection clearance was granted on 05/07/24 for a total capacity of 14 children. Licensee is requesting to change her hours of operation. New hours of operation are 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Licensee was advised never to exceed 24 hours of consecutive care. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. There were no children present during the inspection.
A health and safety inspection of all areas accessible to children was conducted and the following was observed. Off limits areas are: all bedrooms, laundry room, bathroom # 2, garage, entire backyard Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Current CPR/First Aid certificate (expires: 09/25). Roster of the enrolled children, and Fire Drill Log are all being maintained by the Licensee. Hazardous items were stored inaccessible to children in care. A functioning telephone, fire extinguisher (2A10BC), carbon monoxide and smoke detector were observed. No bodies of water were observed in the premises. The licensee was advised that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed changes. Large capacity options were reviewed with the Licensee. Licensee was advised to inform Licensing of any closing or absence that exceeds more than 20% of the time per day. Licensee stated that she might install an above ground pool in the future. Licensee was advised to inform LPA before swimming pool is installed. Licensee stated that she transports children and provide meals.
Licensee owns the home. Effective today 05/16/24, facility is approved for a Large Family Child Care License to serve 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants, or capacity of 14 children when 1 child is enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten or above and 1 child at least age 6 with a maximum of 3 infants. Without an assistant present, the ratios revert to that of a small family childcare home.
Notice of site visit was posted and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Teresa Marquez. |
