13 | On December 12th, 2024, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) David Nguyen and Deborah Khashe met facility representative, Christina Short for the purpose of delivering the complaint findings for the above complaint allegation. LPAs were granted entrance into the childcare facility by facility representative. Purpose of the inspection was explained. LPAs toured the facility inside and out and observed ratios and supervision. There were forty-nine (49) children present and being supervised by eleven (11) childcare teachers.
It was alleged that “Staff forced daycare children to stay sitting down.” Throughout the investigation, LPA conducted the investigation and interviewed with reporting party, childcare teachers, childcare children, and parents. During the interviews with teachers, children, and parents, no information was disclosed to support that staff forced childcare children to stay sitting down. The interviews produced conflicting information. During teachers’ interview, LPA learned that staff directed childcare children and redirected childcare children as needed while the children were in their cares for classroom management and management of children's behaviors. Based on lack of colloborating information, LPA is unable to determine whether staff did or did not force childcare children to stay sitting down.
