13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Corina Beckby met with Directors, Renae Showman and Candi Kettigen, to deliver findings for the above allegation.
During the investigation, LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility, observed interactions with children in care, conducted interviews, obtained facility roster, Unusual Incident Report, personnel report, patient clinical summary, police report, and witness statement. It was alleged that C1 was assaulted by a non-staff member on the playground. There were inconsistent statements regarding if a non-staff member grabbed C1’s arm or just placed hand out to avoid C1 from bothering another student. Pictures could not be provided regarding injuries sustained. The facility was in ratio and staff were adequately supervising children. Majority of parents interviewed stated they felt it was a safe facility, like the teachers, and appreciate the quick communication between them and the facility.
Based on the lack of clear corroborating evidence, the above allegation could not be substantiated or dismissed. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur; therefore, the finding is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
