25 | On 01/24/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Elvira Sierra met with the licensee, Candice Gatlin-Williams for the purpose of an annual random inspection. Facility hours of operation are M-F 06:00am to 12am and Saturday 07:00am to 06:00pm, year round with periodic breaks throughout the year. A review of the Facility Personnel Summary shows that all adults living and working in the home have criminal record clearances on file with Licensing Office. Licensee stated that no new residents moved into the home since licensure. Present in the facility was Licensee caring for 5 daycare children.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off limit areas are: Master Bedroom, Bedroom # 2, Garage and storage shed in the backyard. Kitchen in the home is under renovation and off limits for the children until renovation is completed. Licensee was reminded that day care children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed the posting of the facility license, Emergency Disaster Plan, Earthquake Preparedness Checklist and Notification of Parent Rights by the main entrance. LPA observed the home was clean and appropriately ventilated. Facility maintains a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke/carbon monoxide detector. Age-appropriate toys and reading material were observed. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. No bodies of water were observed on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Medications are kept in the main bedroom which is off limit. The fireplace in the home is appropriately barricaded to prevent access by children. Facility is fence for supervision. Licensee stated she provide meals and provides transportation if needed. Per Licensee no children enrolled at the moment required transportation.
LPA reviewed five children's files. LPA observed all required Licensing forms are completed and maintained in the file. Current in person EMSA CPR and First Aid certification was verified (exp 05/2024). Mandated Reporter training certificate was observed and expires on August 2024. LPA observed a current roster and fire drills are conducted at least once every six months and are properly log. Last fire drill was conducted on 01/11/23.
