25 | On Wednesday, 09/29/21, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams conducted an unannounced random annual inspection and met with Licensee, Ashwini Hiremath. LPA observed (8) eight daycare children present in the home during the inspection. Children were supervised by the Licensee and her Assistant. Licensee’s husband was also present in the home. The off-limit areas are the entire upstairs, study, bedroom suite 2- back room areas and bathroom, kitchen, and the garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit area. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. Criminal record clearances have been verified. Licensee’s operates Monday-Friday and does not provides overnight care.
LPA and Licensee toured the facility and conducted record reviews during the inspection.
There are no bodies of water at the home.
LPA verified Licensee has current Mandated Reporter Training. Licensee understands Mandated Reporter Training is to be completed every two years. Mandated reporter training can be accessed at www.mandatedreporterca.com. CPR/First Aid certification was reviewed and expires October 2021. LPA observed fire drills were conducted at least once every six months and documented.
LPA observed that there were no hazardous items accessible to children. LPA observed an electric fireplace in the home. Licensee stated the fireplace is not used. LPA observed that cleaning materials were inaccessible. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet regulation. Toys appear to be safe. Licensee stated that there are no weapons in the home. LPA discussed current COVID guidelines with Licensee.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence of the licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
