25 | On September 17, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stacey Williams met with Licensee, Ramya Venkitachalam for the purpose of conducting a case management inspection to increase the facility capacity. Licensee applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. LPA observed one child present in the home with Licensee and the Licensee’s husband. All adults have criminal record clearances.
LPA and Licensee toured the home inside and out. The two-story home has an unfenced front yard, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining room, and fenced backyard and a living suite attached to the home. There is a separate side entrance for leading from outside to inside of the living suite. The suite has one large living space, cabinet space, a sink, mini refrigerator, and a full bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. This will be one of the main childcare areas where the program will operate. Off limit areas of the facility will be the entire upstairs. The stairs have a secured gate. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter the off-limit areas. Licensee acknowledged that if she would like to change an off-limits area to on-limits, she will inform LPA for inspection and approval prior to using the space. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure.
LPA observed A functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguisher were observed in the home. The Fire Safety Inspection Clearance has been cleared by French Camp McKinley Rural FPD as of 8/23/21.
