25 | On May 14, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts Elizabeth Santiago (LPA) met with Licensee, Yesenia Luna for the purpose of conducting a case management inspection to increase the facility capacity. Licensee applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Fire clearance was granted by Stockton Fire Department on 04/30/2024.
At time of inspection, LPA conducted an annual inspection as well. LPA observed six children present in the home with Licensee and assistant. Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM. to 6:000 PM. LPA verified the annual fees are current.
All adults subject to criminal background review have obtained criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection were conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include master bedroom and bathroom, bedroom at the end of the hallway, and garage. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. Fireplace is screened by a secured door and remains locked. LPA observed a current roster and documentation that a fire drill is conducted at least once every six months. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care.
