25 | On January 8, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Elizabeth Santiago met with Licensee, Hanna Ward for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were twelve children present at the start of inspection and an adult assistant. Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM . LPA verified all fees are current.
All adults subject to criminal background review have obtained criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection were conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off limit areas consist of the master bedroom/bathroom, pet room, and garage. Licensee requested for backyard to be off limits. Licensee acknowledged that children are never allowed in the off limit areas. Off limit areas will remain inaccessible by door handle covers, locked closed doors and supervision. Licensee understands that 100% supervision is required when children play any unfenced areas. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives were inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed play room area with age appropriate toys for children. There is a fireplace in the living room that is secured with a screened door. LPA observed a restroom and verified that hazardous and toxic items were inaccessible to children in care . Licensee stated there are weapons in the home. LPA verified that weapons and ammunition were stored in separate locked safes.
