LPA conducted an inspection of the home’s interior and exterior in all areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas in the home include the first bedroom to the left of the bathroom, laundry room, master bedroom/bathroom, office, garage, backyard shop, and area to the right of the backyard shop behind the wooden fence. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter the off-limits areas. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives were inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a restroom and verified that toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed cleaners stored underneath the kitchen sink and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the living room with age-appropriate toys for children. Licensee stated there are weapons in the home. LPA verified that weapons and ammunition were stored in separate locked safes. LPA observed a space heater in the home that was designed to look like a fireplace. Licensee stated the front panel does not get hot. LPA observed Licensee touch the front panel. LPA did not observe bodies of water on the premises.
A license for a large Family Child Care Home is granted effective today, December 8, 2023. The facility is approved to serve a capacity of 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants, or up to 14 children with no more than 3 infants, 1 child enrolled in transitional kindergarten or above, and 1 child at least age 6. Infants are children under the age of 2. Without an assistant present, Licensee must follow regulations for a small Family Child Care Home.
There were no deficiencies cited at this time. An exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Jennifer Grasso. During the exit interview, Licensee confirmed that there are no registered sex offenders (RSO) living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in the Field Automation System. A notice of site visit was given to Licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
