25 | On 2/2/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Corina Beckby and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Bettina Engelman, met with Applicant (A1) Praveena Nandikanti for the purpose of a pre-licensing inspection. LPA provided the Entrance Checklist to A1. Also present in the FCCH was A1's husband. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance verified by LPA accessing Guardian. A1’s tentative hours of care are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. A1 does not intend on providing overnight or weekend care.
A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside of the FCCH. A1 accompanied LPA and LPM for the entirety of the tour. The FCCH is a two-story house with an office, kitchen, great room, dining room, pantry, coat room, laundry room, loft, 3 ½ bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, master bedroom, and access to unattached garage. LPA verified that toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA did not observe a fireplaces. LPA observed the stairs properly barricaded by a baby-gate. The outdoor play area was toured which and side yards. LPA verified that the entirety of the backyard is fenced-in and walked the perimeter to ensure the safety of the fence and gate. LPA did not observe a pool, spa nor water feature. A1 stated that she does not own any pets. The OFF-limits areas of the FCCH are the kitchen, pantry, great room, dining room, downstairs bathroom, the coat room, the entirety of the 2nd floor, garage, and the front yard. A1 understands that OFF-limits areas must remain inaccessible to children in care.
A functioning dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector was observed in the great room above the stairs, and tested. Medication is stored in the master bedroom closet. A 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed in the coat room and a first aid kit was observed in the bedroom on the bottom floor. A1 stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home.
