25 | On 6/18/24, at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elvin Baddley and Joaquin Mendez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPAs met with Michelle Holm, Director of the CCC, and Kali Coleck, Assistant Director of the CCC. LPAs explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. The LPAs, in the company of the Director and Assistant Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The CCC uses 4 classrooms (Pre Kindergarten Classroom- ages 4 and above, Preschool Classroom- ages 3-4, Toddler Classroom ages 2-3 and a second Toddler -currently vacant/ converted staff room) for child care services. LPAs observed 36 children on site along with nine teachers (cleared and associated) providing care and supervision.
LPAs observed the classrooms of the CCC to be clean and organized. Each classrooms is observed to have age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The CCC has operable carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom. LPAs tested a carbon monoxide detector in the CCC's Preschool Classroom at 11:12 AM. LPAs observed restrooms attached to each classrooms at the CCC. LPAs observed the restrooms to be in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPAs observed operable refrigerators in the CCC's kitchen which contained food and beverages for children in care. LPAs noted the kitchen area is inaccessible to children in care. LPAs notes snacks, breakfast and lunches provided to children in care are prepared by CCC staff. LPAs observed food menus posted throughout the CCC.
CCCs constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPAs verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. There is available drinking water for children both inside the classroom and outside in the play area.
LPAs observed disinfectants, cleaning solutions and sharps are in secured cabinet in each classroom. (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
