25 | On 7/20/21, at 1:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Beth Stireman, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The FCCH's family room, backyard and attached restroom are used for child care services, while the home's master bedroom and guest restroom are excluded from child care. At the time of the inspection, five children are in care. LPA notes all children are napping during the inspection.
The FCCH was clean, orderly and void of hazardous items. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the home are age appropriate. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. LPA did not test the detector as all of the children in care are napping. .The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was service on 7/23/20. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. Medication in the FCCH is stored in a medicate cabinet in the home's master bedroom which is an excluded area of the FCCH and inaccessible to children. Likewise, cleaning compounds are stored in the home's garage which was locked and inaccessible to children in care. The FCCH maintains operable telephone services.
The FCCH's backyard is enclosed by cinder block and wood fencing. LPA observed the back yard entry/exit gate to be secured. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate and in satisfactory condition. LPA observed no bodies of water on site.
A sampling of the children records were reviewed. The records were current and complete. LPA reviewed the facility's roster which contained the names and contact information for all of the children on site. LPA also reviewed the facility's fire drill and noted the last fire drill was completed on 7/6/21. The Licensee
