25 | On 11/18/22, at 11:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Beth Stireman, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The FCCH's playroom, backyard and restroom are used for child care services, while the home's master bedroom and guest restroom are excluded from child care. It should be noted LPA observed a child safety gate at the entry to the playroom. At the time of the inspection, one child are in care.
The FCCH was clean, orderly and void of hazardous items. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the home are age appropriate. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH which was tested at 1:10 PM and found to be operable. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher (2A10BC) which were service on 7/23/22. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. Medication in the FCCH is stored in a medicate cabinet in the home's master bedroom which is an excluded area of the FCCH and inaccessible to children. Likewise, cleaning compounds are stored in the home's garage which is locked and inaccessible to children in care. The FCCH maintains operable telephone services.LPA observed required licensing forms and documents on the wall of the FCCH's playroom.
The FCCH's backyard is enclosed by cinder block and wood fencing. The footing in the backyard is varied. LPA observed the backyard entry/exit gates to be secured. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate and in satisfactory condition. LPA reminded Licensee to replace toys and play equipment in the outdoor area when such items begin to degrade. LPA observed no bodies of water on site.
The children's records are reviewed. The records were current and complete with immunization records, sleep
