25 | On 9/1/26, at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Sapien conducted an unannounced annual random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Laura Pesenti, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the nature of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the FCCH throughout its entirety. The home possesses 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The home is a two story residence. The areas that are accessible for day care children are the following: room addition (primary playroom), family room (second playroom), one bathroom, kitchen, and backyard. The remainder of the home is excluded from childcare services, including each of the bedrooms. In the home, inaccessible areas and rooms are made secure by child safety locks and gates. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed 6 children in care, 1 of whom was an infant. In addition to the Licensee, LPA also observed one staff assistant and the Licensee's adult daughter (both cleared and associated).
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and in order. The bathroom, which is utilized for childcare, was found to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed bathroom cabinets to be free of hazardous items. LPA observed cleaning supplies on top of the kitchen refrigerator and within the laundry room. Personal medications are stored in top of the kitchen refrigerator as well, out of reach of children in care. No children currently have any medication needs. Sharps, like cleaning supplies and medication, are stored in an elevated area on top of the refrigerator. Licensee also informed LPA that there is a First Aid Kit present in the residence for the day care.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys, furnishings, and equipment throughout the interior of the day care. In the family room, LPA observed one gas fireplace that was observed to be enclosed by metal chains and glass doors. Licensee informed LPA that the fireplace is not used during day care hours. LPA also observed one smaller dog present on site. Licensee informed LPA that the dog's vaccinations are current, however, the dog doesn't have interactions with children in care. LPA also observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently to a parent board in the primary playroom. LPA observed separate smoke and carbon monoxide detectors within the residence.
