LPA met with Maricela Silva, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the purpose of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the FCCH throughout its entirety. The home possesses 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The home is single story. The areas that are accessible for day care children are the following: side room (primary playroom), one bedroom (nursery + secondary playroom), garage, driveway, and front yard. The remainder of the home is excluded from childcare services, including the other bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the home, inaccessible areas and rooms are locked. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed 8 child in care, one of whom was an infant. In addition to the Licensee, LPA also observed one assistant (cleared and associated).
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and in order. The bathroom, which utilized for childcare, was found to be clean and free of toxic items. Licensee stores cleaning supplies, sharps, and medications in elevated kitchen cabinets. No children currently use medication. The kitchen is made inaccessible via a child safety gate.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys, furnishings, and equipment throughout the interior for the day care. LPA observed no fireplaces within the residence. LPA did, however, observe two dogs present on site. The children don't play with the dogs, however, the dogs' vaccinations are up to date. LPA observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently in the garage. LPA observed a dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors within the home. Near the kitchen area, a detector was tested at 2:15 PM and was found to be operational. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH which was serviced last on: 11/10/25. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the FCCH's fire and earthquake drill log. The most recent disaster drill occurred on the following date: 5/18/26. Licensee informed LPA that disaster drills are conducted at least once every six months at the day care. (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
